EXPERT DESIGN DIRECTOR

As a leader within the McKinsey Design practice, I drove design impact by infusing user-centricity into problem solving, coaching clients on design methodologies, and building new capabilities. As an Expert Design Director, I led high-performing, multidisciplinary teams while collaborating closely with clients to envision and build new businesses, products, and services. I built cross-functional relationships with senior leaders and frequently championed the business value of design with executive stakeholders. Over several engagements, I directed my teams through discovery research to uncover insights that informed strategic priorities, north star experience concepts, and long-term product roadmaps. I also led several digital product builds through the development lifecycle with agile methods, from initial design to market launch (e.g., concepting, testing, and iterating).


Key Accomplishments

  • Led strategic design and capability building of an AI transformation for a global copper mining client. Contributed to 200M increase in pounds of annual copper production across mines, $350M+ EBITDA improvement by scaling AI, and $1.5-2B CapEx avoidance

  • Led design for a digital op model transformation to radically improve delivery for a leading global food retailer. Infused design thinking and user-centricity into 5 frontrunner product teams that launched MVPs with $200M+ impact

  • Directed design re-imagination workstream of a digital transformation for a global hospitality client across multiple product journey redesigns, from user research and north star definition to MVP launches. Contributed to $90M+ impact

  • Directed design vision and future product roadmap of reimagined hybrid collaboration for a global telecommunications client. Impact opportunity of 4-8x share of wallet increase with existing and new customers, $7-10B in total addressable market in new industry vertical, and $2-5B in total incremental addressable market in existing verticals

  • Provided significant contribution to McKinsey Design recruiting (e.g., weekly portfolio reviews, technical design interviews)

  • Received distinctive recognition as faculty in key learning programs (e.g., DnA Tech Week, Experienced Hire Training)
